baby c {5 days new} | northridge newborn photographer

I am so smitten with this little guy. Love him and his whole family. In case you missed it, you can view his birth photos here.

Once we got him good and milk drunk the shoot ran pretty smoothly. Mr. C is my first newborn to not pee or poop on me (yep, it happens). It was kinda strange. I felt like the session wasn't complete because of that. :)

We also got to use some fun props in this session. First up, his daddy's Tonka truck from when he was a kid... please, if you ever consider trying this, make sure you have someone there to hold the truck still while you get baby situated. Next up was a cool vintage suitcase that Mom & Dad has found when they moved. I love the suitcase and can't wait to use it again.

Big brother absolutely adores his little brother, too. He just didn't want to cooperate too much with photos until the jelly bean bribery came out.

Enjoy!

Don't forget to leave them some love! If this post gets 20 unique comments, Mom & Dad will get a complimentary 8x10.

baby c {birth day} | woodland hills birth photographer

I met baby C's mama, Lindsey, back in 2008. We met on a wedding forum. I had just gotten married and she was starting to plan hers. I remember the night we first met in real life. About 20 of us had made plans for a get together at Jerry's Famous Deli in Marina Del Rey. Lindsey and I lived fairly close to each other, so we talked about carpooling. Yep, meeting in person for the first time and she was willing to get in the car with me! :) We then drove down to the restaurant where her then fiance', Chris, met us with lots of other ladies (recently married or brides-to-be). We had so much fun that night that she let Chris drive home by himself and she rode home with me.... and we got lost! That was a fun night and we became instant friends.

Fast forward a few years and they had their first adorable little man, T. I had the privilege of him being my 2nd newborn session ever. That was awesome. Since then our boys have become great friends. N absolutely adores T.

Then Lindsey got pregnant with their 2nd. I was so excited when she contacted me to shoot her birth. She was amazing during her labor and delivery. Calm and smiling for the most part. The nurse kept telling her she wasn't in enough pain because she WAS smiling.... but her smile never really left. Heck, she didn't even break a sweat. She was a super mom.

I am so blessed to have been able to be a part of this special moment for this family. Here are some of the moments of that day... and check back soon... Baby C will be getting back in front of my lens this week!

**If this post gets 20 or more unique comments (from different people) this family will receive a complmentary 8x10! Leave them some love!

Welcome to the world, baby C!

The next 2 are probably my favorite from the whole night...

logan {happy 1st birthday} | long beach cake smash photographer

This little guy is ONE! I first met this family when Logan's older brother, Max, turned 1 and we did a cake smash for them. Since then I have done a few other sessions for them, including Logan's first year. Unfortunately, I was really bad about blogging back then, so there are no posts on my blog featuring this little guy (but he is all over my Facebook page, if you want to check him out).

Thank you so much to his Mommy & Daddy for the privilege to capture his first year. We had a ton of fun at his cake smash. He was so full of smiles and giggles. Going through the session, I can't help but smile. I am going to miss seeing this family every 6ish months!

Cake: Dough C Dough Cakery (it did melt a little bit... but that is my fault because it was in my warm car for almost 2 hours on my way to the shoot!)

**If this post gets 20 or more unique comments (from different people) I will gift this family a free 8x10! Leave them some love!

Happy 1st birthday, Logan!! Enjoy!!

I love this one of Mama and her boys.....

march {instagram}

As promised, here is my monthly instagram recap. March brought a lot of fun and activities our way. My little man turned 3, spring made it's appearance, and I was kept busy with photo shoots.

Enjoy!

xoxo,
Cari

  1. At the end of little man's 3rd birthday party. We had a great time! A recap will be posted on Mama Say What?! soon. Keep an eye out!
  2. Enjoying a beautiful day at the park.
  3. Signs of spring. A tree we walk by when walking our friends' dogs was getting it's leaves.
  4. In N Out knows how to keep parents and kiddos happy with their sticker sets.
  5. Menchie's is a fun treat for us. We had a Mommy & Son date there.
  6. I was editing away and N brought me a daffodil from our garden. He insisted I stick it behind my ear.
  7. A flowering tree on our property (I think it's a fig tree?). All I know is it's pretty.
  8. Marriage Equality.
  9. Walking our friends' dogs. He loves those dogs so much!
  10. Ok, so this isn't my photo... but that's because I kept forgetting to take a picture of them after we baked them. These are some scrumptious Mini Egg Blondies. They are seriously good.
  11. Client delivery of a canvas and disc of images.
  12. A daffodil in my garden on Easter Sunday.
