baby L {14 days new} | san diego newborn photographer

Eighteen months ago I photographed this little girl's big sister's newborn session. Their mama contacted me shortly after she found out she was pregnant this time around to book baby L's session. I was so excited to see them all again. Big Sister is so adorably cute... but at 18 months made it hard to get sibling photos. But we were able to sneak a few out of her. Baby L had a harder time cooperating with me than her sister, but we got some beautiful shots... and because she was born in the warmer months we even took some photos outside! It was a great day!

Enjoy!

Don't forget to leave them some love! If this post gets 20 unique comments, Mom & Dad will get a complimentary 8x10. :)

may {instagram}

I am impressed with myself with how many instagram photos I had in May. If I keep this up, it is going to get harder and harder to choose which ones to post to my blog. :)

May brought warm weather and some fun stuff... and in just a few days my doula training. I'll admit, I am a little nervous and anxious about it, but also super excited. I can't wait.

Until next month....

xoxo,
Cari

  1. Nap time shenanigans. I love all of his faces.
  2. Robin Long, my friend and newborn photography mentor, was down here for another workshop. I got to go to dinner with her and some other photog friends one night.
  3. Oh the nostalgia! Did you have a Snoopy Snow Cone Machine?! I did. But this isn't that one. N got this one as a birthday gift from a friend and we finally put it to use. He loves it.
  4. Throwback Thursday: 5 years ago my hubby and I said "I do." And shortly after I was working with my own wedding photog and testing the waters to see if this was for me. :)
  5. A pretty flower on our walk with the puppies.
  6. Anniversary dinner at the Melting Pot. It was our first time and I enjoyed it so much. Hubby wasn't as sure about it.
  7. Swimming! He is such a ham in my sunglasses. I never really cared we had a pool in our complex until N came along. He is obsessed.
  8. Park day. He also chose his outfit that day.
  9. Homemade strawberry jam. With strawberries from the Northridge Mall Farmers Market.
  10. Enjoying said jam. It is delicious.
  11. Nap time shenanigans again. Wearing Mommy's computer glasses.
  12. Had to run an errand in the hubby's car. I have to change the lights to purple. :)

April was a busy month for us. We had lots of fun though, so I can't argue. :)

  2. mmmm... a favorite treat that a friend left me.
  3. Throwback Thursday. Did you know I used to work for WaMu?! I worked there for 9 years!
  4. California Science Center with his buddy. We love that place. If you haven't been, you should go.
  5. The Endeavor at CA Science Center. Those things are so much bigger than you realize.
  6. I was at baby C's birth and was waiting outside while mama was being checked. This was my view.
  7. Relaxing with my hubby watching a Dave Matthews Band concert on TV. We {puffy heart} them!
  8. Another throwback Thursday. Three generations at my high school graduation (too many years ago).
  9. A stamp I use in packaging and such for my products. I love the message.

baby c {5 days new} | northridge newborn photographer

I am so smitten with this little guy. Love him and his whole family. In case you missed it, you can view his birth photos here.

Once we got him good and milk drunk the shoot ran pretty smoothly. Mr. C is my first newborn to not pee or poop on me (yep, it happens). It was kinda strange. I felt like the session wasn't complete because of that. :)

We also got to use some fun props in this session. First up, his daddy's Tonka truck from when he was a kid... please, if you ever consider trying this, make sure you have someone there to hold the truck still while you get baby situated. Next up was a cool vintage suitcase that Mom & Dad has found when they moved. I love the suitcase and can't wait to use it again.

Big brother absolutely adores his little brother, too. He just didn't want to cooperate too much with photos until the jelly bean bribery came out.

Enjoy!

Don't forget to leave them some love! If this post gets 20 unique comments, Mom & Dad will get a complimentary 8x10.

baby c {birth day} | woodland hills birth photographer

I met baby C's mama, Lindsey, back in 2008. We met on a wedding forum. I had just gotten married and she was starting to plan hers. I remember the night we first met in real life. About 20 of us had made plans for a get together at Jerry's Famous Deli in Marina Del Rey. Lindsey and I lived fairly close to each other, so we talked about carpooling. Yep, meeting in person for the first time and she was willing to get in the car with me! :) We then drove down to the restaurant where her then fiance', Chris, met us with lots of other ladies (recently married or brides-to-be). We had so much fun that night that she let Chris drive home by himself and she rode home with me.... and we got lost! That was a fun night and we became instant friends.

Fast forward a few years and they had their first adorable little man, T. I had the privilege of him being my 2nd newborn session ever. That was awesome. Since then our boys have become great friends. N absolutely adores T.

Then Lindsey got pregnant with their 2nd. I was so excited when she contacted me to shoot her birth. She was amazing during her labor and delivery. Calm and smiling for the most part. The nurse kept telling her she wasn't in enough pain because she WAS smiling.... but her smile never really left. Heck, she didn't even break a sweat. She was a super mom.

I am so blessed to have been able to be a part of this special moment for this family. Here are some of the moments of that day... and check back soon... Baby C will be getting back in front of my lens this week!

**If this post gets 20 or more unique comments (from different people) this family will receive a complmentary 8x10! Leave them some love!

Welcome to the world, baby C!

The next 2 are probably my favorite from the whole night...
